Some projects tell the story of sustainable progress so beautifully that we just want to share them with pride. The recent project we carried out for Mrs Theunissen in Maastricht is just such a case. A beautiful 1930s house, a curious customer and a complete system that is ready for the future.
What started with a question about solar panels became a smart total solution. Not because we had to, but because it felt like the right move.
What we installed
- Solar panels with Enphase IQ8MC microinverters
We installed high-quality solar panels equipped with Enphase IQ8MC microinverters. Thanks to this technology, each solar panel functions independently of the rest. This keeps the system performing optimally, even in case of temporary shadow on one or more panels. The result: maximum yield, more control and a future-proof installation. - WeHeat Sparrow hybrid heat pump
The home was equipped with the WeHeat Sparrow, a hybrid heat pump suitable for both heating and cooling. This heat pump works efficiently with the solar power system, significantly reducing energy consumption and minimizing gas consumption. The hybrid heat pump is ideally suited for existing homes that want to become more sustainable step by step. - Goodwe 5 kWh home battery
To make the best use of the solar energy generated, we installed a Goodwe home battery with a capacity of 5 kWh. The battery stores excess power for later use, such as in the evening or during cloudy times. This keeps the proportion of self-consumption high and reduces dependence on the energy grid.

What makes this project unique is the clever collaboration between the three components. The solar panels generate energy for both the home appliances and the heat pump. The battery stores excess energy for later use. This synergy creates a stable, sustainable and efficient energy system that perfectly suits both the customer’s needs and the character of the home.

A while ago I contacted The Sustainable Boys, because my neighbor told me that they are the party if you want to have solar panels installed. And he’s a serious guy, so I thought: that’s all right. I didn’t look around any further either.
Advisor Sam came to me for a talk, and then I immediately decided that I also wanted a heat pump and home battery installed. I had honestly never looked into it, because I don’t like “heating states,” but the way everything was explained and the energy I felt during that conversation … that gave me confidence.
Soon there was a whole team on the floor. Nice, enthusiastic men who were busy all day. Because I felt so much positive energy, I started looking into what was being installed. Meanwhile, I am extremely happy, proud and excited about my sustainable investment in my 1930s home.
I am used to some things when it comes to work around the house, but this team really deserves a big compliment. What they do is really golden. Everything is pulled out. It’s neat, tidy, polished – even the pipes are perpendicular to the wall. During coffee breaks it was cozy, everything was explained, and there are now battery units hanging in the basement with a shelf and a wifi thingy on it … everything is just right. Perfect down to the details.
Daley drives around in a perfectionist bus – I looked around in it – and nothing is too much for him. The mechanics ran around all day. If it was quiet for a long time, I knew what time it was: another part had been carefully placed somewhere. Water pipes were beautifully installed and everyone was beaming.
Oh yes, and here suddenly six solar panels were on the roof within twenty minutes, again by two enthusiastic colleagues. Everything was tight, fast and with so much attention. I truly believe that no other team could have done this the way they did. That’s how happy I am with this choice.
For me, The Sustainable Boys are the epitome of a young, innovative and professional company. The future lies at their feet. As a customer, you feel that the whole team is doing everything they can to deliver great work. And that really isn’t something you can take for granted these days. They can be very proud of what they have achieved.
All I have to do now is occasionally look at the app for all the equipment – and I even like that. And, of course, telling everyone to call The Sustainable Boys.
