Solar panels from The Sustainable Boys
Cheap, green power
The question is not whether solar panels are interesting, but when you start taking advantage of them. While the energy market remains unpredictable, solar panels give you certainty: fixed, low costs and an investment that pays for itself. Even after the abolition of the net-metering scheme.
With the latest generation of panels, you get the maximum return from the sun. You lower your monthly expenses from day one and put your home on the market stronger with a better energy label.
Custom sustainability advice
Every home is different. That’s why we always start with a personal consultation in your home. This results in tailored sustainability advice: a plan that fits your roof, your energy consumption and your future plans. Will you soon want to charge your electric car or store electricity in a home battery? Then we will ensure that your system is prepared for this now.
01 How does netting actually work?
Very simple: the electricity you feed back is offset against what you consume. Up to and including 2026 this can still be done in full, after that the scheme will change.
02 Until when can I still net up?
The scheme will remain in place until Dec. 31, 2026. From 2027, net-metering will stop and you will receive a feed-in fee for power you send into the grid.
03 What will I get for my returned power later?
After 2027, you are guaranteed a reimbursement of at least 50% of the calving rate. This is set by law until the end of 2029. After that, the energy supplier determines the amount, but it must remain “reasonable.
04 How high are the fees in 2026?
This varies by supplier: on average they are between€0.02 and €0.19 perkWh. So it pays to compare providers carefully.
05 What are feed-in charges?
More and more energy suppliers are charging fees when you feed power back. Consider processing or imbalance charges. Pay attention to this when choosing your contract; sometimes these costs are low or even zero.
06 So how do I get the most out of my solar panels?
Use as much power as possible when the sun is shining. Think about washing clothes or charging your car during the day. A home battery or dynamic energy contract can enhance this effect.
07 Will solar panels still be profitable if net-metering stops?
Yes. You still benefit from full net-metering until the end of 2026. After that the investment remains interesting, especially if you are smart about your own consumption or add a battery.
08 What should I pay attention to with my energy contract?
Pay attention not only to the electricity rate, but also to:
- amount of the feed-in fee
- any feed-in charges
- flexibility (fixed, variable or dynamic contract)
